The Washi Wrap Painting Label
Designed for attachment to a painting's backing board, the Washi Wrap Painting Label combines visual identification and RFID tracking capabilities into one package. Using a traditional identification label as a model, Washi Wrap utilizes a 13.56 MHZ RFID inlay mounted to 4 x 6" label with an acid free adhesive to produce this dual-purpose tag. A museum's logo can be printed, in one color, on each label. Upon delivery to a museum, each tag can be sent through an RFID enabled laser printer to add accession number, artist, title, date, medium, dimension, and credit information for visual identification of a work. The work can then be identified and its location tracked, by "reading" the RFID through the canvas, without moving the painting.
